UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy’s Kim Brouwer, Pharm.D., Ph.D., is this year’s recipient of the American College of Clinical Pharmacology’s Distinguished Investigator Award. School creates early assurance program partnership with University of North Carolina Asheville

Enrolled and incoming University of North Carolina Asheville (UNCA) students who express interest in pursuing a doctoral degree in pharmacy may now be eligible for assured admission to the Pharm.D. program at the University of North Carolina’s Eshelman School of Pharmacy. An Early Assurance Program (EAP) partnership between the two institutions was signed in March. Ph.D. student focuses on HIV latency, enters UNC’s Translational Medicine Program to advance research

UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy Ph.D. student Anthony Sanchez is focused on understanding HIV latency with the goal of one day developing a cure for the virus. Grant Funding Helps CMO Pursue Value-Based Care and Population Health Projects

The Center for Medication Optimization (CMO) has received more than $600,000 in grant funding from the Eshelman Institute for Innovation to pursue new ideas spanning value-based care and population health. This June, the Eshelman Institute for Innovation (EII) awarded $3.5 million across 24 projects to support research and education initiatives at UNC, three of which were awarded to CMO. UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy collaborates with UNC Health Care to improve, optimize patient care

Researchers at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy’s Center for Medication Optimization, in collaboration with UNC Health Care’s Pharmacy Services team, are coming together to improve and optimize patient care delivery, pharmacy analytics and outcomes. The partnership, called Optimizing Care Delivery, is a unique collaboration between an academic research center and a health system in North Carolina.
