Incoming PhD student Alyssa Holden receives National Science Foundation’s Graduate Research Fellowship

The fellowship recognizes outstanding graduate students in STEM disciplines who are pursuing research-based graduate degrees, according to the organization’s website. Professor Craig Lee named chair of Division of Pharmacotherapy and Experimental Therapeutics
June 8, 2022Professor Craig R. Lee, Pharm.D., Ph.D., has been named the new Chair of the Division of Pharmacotherapy and Experimental Therapeutics (DPET) at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy, effective August 1, 2022. Lee is currently a professor and the vice chair for research and graduate education in DPET. He is an alumnus of the School’s Pharm.D. and Ph.D. programs, is a licensed pharmacist in North Carolina, and is a fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy and the American Heart Association. June 3, 2022Tom Diaz is fascinated by space. The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy Pharm.D. student is specifically curious about the thought of medicine in space. His mind is often pondering how medication dosing may be different for astronauts, and how medications may be altered in little gravity. “It fascinates me that human physiology is significantly altered in a microgravity environment. UNC-Chapel Hill receives $65M from NIH for antiviral drug development center
May 20, 2022The new center will develop antivirals that could combat future pandemic-level viruses The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, part of the National Institutes of Health awarded the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy and the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health a $65 million grant establishing an Antiviral Drug Discovery Center to develop oral antivirals that can combat pandemic-level viruses like COVID-19. The center builds upon and is tightly affiliated with UNC’s Rapidly Emerging Antiviral Drug Development Initiative.
