Elevating degree with a minor in pharmaceutical sciences

The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy’s first cohort for the undergraduate Minor in Pharmaceutical Sciences start classes this semester. As part of the cohort, Steven Nuzzolo, a third-year student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is excited to enhance his current studies in neuroscience and chemistry with the addition of the minor.   Pharmaceuticals are a major part of human health and the health care industry. Ameya Chaudhari named 2023 Kathryne A. Brewington Graduate Research Award winner

Ph.D. candidate Ameya Chaudhari is the 2023 recipient of the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy’s Kathryne A. Brewington Graduate Research Award.   The School presents the award annually to the most outstanding doctoral student in pharmaceutical sciences in honor of the late Katherine Brewington’s commitment to public service and higher education. Student selected for first Community Pharmacy Student Scholar Leader Program

Ama Boamah Selected for AACP CVS Health Minority Scholarship

Pharmacy student paving his own path in aerospace medicine at NASA

Until now, Tom Diaz had only explored and studied the field of aerospace medicine through reading papers, attending conferences and joining the Aerospace Medical Association. He also co-founded Aerospace Medicine at Carolina, a subgroup of the national Aerospace Medicine Student and Resident Organization, in an effort to grow interest in the field among undergraduate, graduate and professional students in schools across campus.  Everything changed when he was accepted into the NASA/Johnson Space Center Aerospace Medicine Clerkship program, where he had the opportunity to attend briefings, lectures and tours led by NASA scientists, and complete a research project.  “This clerkship has … Read more

Residency program expands to Scotland Neck and Rocky Mount

As part of the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy’s Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) Community-Based Pharmacy Residency Program expansion, pharmacies in Eastern North Carolina’s Scotland Neck and Rocky Mount are coming together to offer a unique residency experience.   This expansion is focused on reaching Eastern North Carolina in rural and underserved areas. McDowell’s Pharmacy in Scotland Neck is a family-owned pharmacy with a rich history of serving the community since 1901.
