CIPS Wins Awards for Web Design and Video Production

Members from the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy’s Center for Innovation in Pharmacy Simulation won four Hermes awards and two Telly Awards for web design and videography. An interactive webpage designed by CIPS won four Hermes Creative Awards on May 18. The page, designed for the Community Pharmacy Foundation, outlines principles of team-based health care. Jason Whitley, M.S.; Joel Floyd, M.S.; and Catherine MacAllister, M.Ed. designed the webpage. It was based on research conducted by postdoctoral researcher Chelsea Renfro, Pharm.D. Asher Prince Honored as Physician Assistant Fellow

Heather Asher Prince has been named a distinguished fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Asher Prince is director of clinical operations for Clinical Pharmacology and Analytical Chemistry Laboratory in the Division of Pharmacy and Experimental Therapeutics at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. McDaniel Receives 2017 Smith Staff Award for Excellence

Ryan McDaniel is the recipient of the 2016 Phyllis Smith Staff Award for Excellence at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. The award was presented at the annual holiday staff luncheon at the Carolina Inn on Friday, Dec. 15. McDaniel is the executive assistant floater at the School. Rather than having one permanent administrative role, McDaniel moves from job to job, filling in wherever he’s needed. He joined the School in January 2017. Wingo Returns to Direct Office of Curricular and Student Affairs

Brad Wingo, M.Ed., has returned to the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy as the director of the Office of Curricular and Student Affairs. Wingo worked at the School previously as the director of student affairs and spent a year in between as the director of academic advising in the Poole College of Management at North Carolina State University. The Office of Curricular and Student Affairs was formerly two separate offices, the Office of Student Affairs and the Office of Experiential Education. Musgrove Receives Outstanding Employee Forum Delegate Award

Katie Musgrove, executive associate for Kenan Distinguished Professor Kuo-Hsiung Lee, Ph.D., and the Natural Products Research Laboratories, was given the Kay Wijnberg Hovious Outstanding Employee Forum Delegate Award on June 14 after being nominated by her fellow delegates. The award recognizes the work of outstanding forum delegates who go above and beyond the call of duty when performing work on behalf of the forum. There are three winners each year, who are voted on by the other delegates. Fiscelli Receives 2016 Smith Staff Award for Excellence

Kathryn Fiscelli, Ph.D., is the recipient of the 2016 Phyllis Smith Staff Award for Excellence at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Fiscelli is the assistant director of research administration here at the School. She works to manage nearly 150 grants and contracts and the 20 to 30 grant applications active at any one time that are handled by the School’s Office of Research Administration. Research Tech Paints with Purpose to Brighten NC Children’s Hospital

Rachel Howard, a research technician at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy, is blanketing the North Carolina Children’s Hospital with holiday spirit one window at a time. Howard is painting wintry scenes for children at NC Children’s Hospital in Chapel Hill. Roy Zwahlen Joins School as Assistant Dean for Innovation and Strategy

Asheville Administrator Laura Bratsch Wins 2014 Staff Award for Excellence

When Laura Bratsch, administrative support specialist for the Asheville satellite campus of the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy, was told that she had to drive from the Great Smokey Mountains to Chapel Hill, she thought that it was to discuss the 2015 pharmacy student curriculum.
