For three weeks in July, the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy will virtually host the Innovations and Transformations in Pharmaceutical Sciences 2020 conference.

The annual conference is geared toward current and future scientists to learn about the discovery, delivery and clinical use of drugs and vaccines – a topic of upmost importance during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The online conference, offered to learners around the world, will expose participants to world-class professors from the No.1-ranked school of pharmacy in the United States. Participants will explore cutting-edge research and innovative technologies across the development lifecycle of drugs and vaccines of today.

“Now more than ever, it’s critical that we bring pharmacists and future pharmacists together from around the world to discuss the discovery, delivery and clinical use of drugs and vaccines. Through this conference, we have the unique ability to come together and talk about COVID-19 treatment, global immunization programs, medication dosing in children, and genetics in pharmacotherapy, and so much more,” said conference organizer Stephen Eckel, Pharm.D., MHA, BCPS, and clinical associate professor at the School.

The first week of the program is free, offering introductory topics in pharmaceutical sciences. The second and third weeks, available exclusively to registered participants, will dive deeper into the fascinating science and clinical application of drugs and vaccines. Registered participants will receive certificates for attending the conference.

Classes will be held Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. EST for the weeks of July 6, July 20, and July 27.
