Instructor: Michael D. Wolcott, PharmD, PhD, BCIDPS is the Dean for Education and associate professor at the High Point University Workman School of Dental Medicine.
Description: Have you heard of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), but are unsure what that means or how to incorporate it into teaching? Join us for a discussion about common barriers for learners and strategies from UDL that can support more inclusive learning environments. Participants will expand their toolkit of instructional and experiential teaching practices that are more mindful of learner differences.
Learning Objectives: At the end of this program, participants will be able to:
- Identify various barriers to effective learning
- Describe the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework
- Evaluate UDL techniques that support inclusive learning environments
