Over Mother’s Day weekend, nearly 160 degrees were conferred for master of science, doctor of philosophy and doctor of pharmacy graduates at Memorial Hall.

Class of 2019.

Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost Bob Blouin told graduates they played an integral part in the installment of the re-envisioned Pharm.D. curriculum and they were ready to face the complexities of healthcare in the future.

Graduate student representative John P. Prybylski brought comments on behalf of the doctor of philosophy and master of science students and said, “It has amazed me how unpretentious people are here, despite the prestige of the institution; there is much less focus on our reputation than there is on the work that establishes that reputation.”

Pharm.D. Class of 2019 President Taylor Dennison gave advice to Pharm.D. graduates and said, “We will be responsible for real people and for solving patient problems that will impact both the quality of lives and also the future of healthcare. Let us continue to aim to better the lives, health, and well-being of our patients, as well as the field of pharmacy both for us now and for generations to come.”

UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy alum Patrick Brown, Pharm.D., and president of the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences Alumni Association led students in reciting the “Oath of the Pharmacists” before they recessed out of Memorial Hall.

Congratulations again to the Class of 2019!
