The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy was selected by Insight Into Diversity magazine as a 2016 recipient of the prestigious Health Professions Higher Education Excellence in Diversity Award.
The oldest and largest diversity-focused publication in higher education, Insight Into Diversity presents the award to U.S. medical, dental, pharmacy, osteopathic, nursing and allied health schools that demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion through their innovative programs, hiring practices and on-campus support systems.
“The HEED award is a measure of a progress we have made as a school in meeting a need in our profession and our society,” said Carla White, assistant dean of innovative leadership and diversity at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. “A diverse organization makes better decisions and is better positioned to contribute in new and innovative ways.”
The School will be featured in the December 2016 issue of the magazine with the 30 other recipients.
