Latasha Weeks, PharmD, has been named the new Elizabeth City State University director of the UNC-ECSU Doctor of Pharmacy Partnership Program. Weeks is a former clinical assistant professor at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy and recently completed a community pharmacy residency at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

“I very much look forward to working with Latasha,” say Pamela U. Joyner, associate dean of professional education at the School. “The broad scope of her professional experiences, her creativity, her passion for students, and her leadership experience make her a great choice for this position.”

In her new role, Weeks will be based on the ECSU campus and will oversee the day-to-day operation of the partnership program, which is enrolling its sixth class this fall.

Weeks received her doctor of pharmacy from the University of Maryland. She also holds bachelor’s degrees in microbiology and in economics from that institution. As a member of the UMd faculty, she served as pharmacist coordinator for an introductory pharmacy practice experience. Prior to beginning her of her residency at UNC, weeks worked as a clinical account manager with First Health Services Corporation in Owings Mills, Md., where she provided clinical and managed-care services to the District of Columbia and Montana Medicaid Programs. She has also practiced as a staff pharmacist with CVS and Walmart in Baltimore, Md.
