SNPhA Boka Hadzija Scholarship
Schaffer also was the recipient of the new $1,500 SNPhA Boka Hadzija Award. The SNPhA established the scholarship to honor Hadzija, PhD, a professor in the School’s Division of Molecular Pharmaceutics, for her years of support and dedication to students. Hadzija, who joined the School in 1971, teaches professional and graduate students and has received more than thirty teaching awards from the University and the School. The SNPhA scholarship goes to a student who demonstrates a history of work geared toward underserved communities and a commitment to professional service.

“Dr Hadzija has proven to be a great role model for her students,” says Alan B. Enojado, a third-year PharmD student at the School. “I am grateful to have her as an academic and professional resource and consider her to be one of the reasons why our school has established itself as one of the finest.”

Chapter Awards
The UNC SNPhA chapter was recognized for three honors. The chapter received the Community Outreach Award for its World AIDS Week Initiatives, the Collaboration Award for its Operation Immunization efforts, and the Professional Service Award for the PCAT Preparatory Review.
