Adam Persky, PhD
Adam Persky received his BS in biology from Purdue University and a MS in exercise science from the University of Massachusetts – Amherst. He completed his PhD in pharmaceutical sciences at the University of Florida and did an industry-sponsored postdoctoral fellowship in pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and GlaxoSmithKline. He joined the faculty at UNC-Chapel Hill in 2004 where he is currently a clinical associate professor in the Division of Pharmacotherapy and Experimental Therapeutics. He is the director of the Center for Educational Excellence in Pharmacy, which is charged with the promotion of innovative teaching practices within the School. Persky has received several teaching awards from the School including Best Overall Instructor. He was named an Atlantic Coast Conference Teaching Scholar during the program’s inaugural year (2009–2010). He has published and has given national-level workshops on teaching and learning.
