For the second year in a row, the PharmD students of the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy named Ralph Raasch, PharmD, as their choice for the 2011 Overall Instructor of the Year Award for 2011. The honor was announced during the School’s Award Day ceremony on April 17.

Additional honors went to instructors of the year selected by the first-, second-, and third-year classes. Clinical assistant professor Christine Walko, PharmD, was chosen by the PY3s; associate professor Scott Singleton, PhD, by the PY2s, and clinical associate professor Adam Persky, PhD, by the PY1s.

Clinical associate professor Pete Koval, PharmD, was named AHEC Instructor of the Year. Koval is the assistant director of pharmacy at the Greensboro AHEC.

Jennifer Keller, PharmD, a pharmacist with Pike’s Pharmacy in Charlotte, and Matthew Ransom, PharmD, a preceptor at Mission Hospital in Asheville, N.C. and a member of Mountain AHEC, were named Preceptors of the Year.
