The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy offers four distinctive degree programs. Our Doctor of Pharmacy offers a pharmacy-education curriculum that will give you an edge when you enter the world of work. The Pharm.D. program is offered at our flagship campus in Chapel Hill and at our satellite campus in Asheville, North Carolina. They both offer the same great classroom, practice, and leadership opportunities.

Are you more interested in advanced training in drug development, delivery, and policy? Our Ph.D. program in the pharmaceutical sciences provides a tailored curriculum and research experiences in each of these areas.  For those who have already earned a Pharm.D., our two-year master’s program in pharmaceutical sciences allows you to specialize in health-system pharmacy.

The online Master of Professional Science in Regulatory Science prepares you for global leadership roles as a regulatory science professional in this high demand career field.

Pharm.D.

The doctor of pharmacy is for those who want to become a pharmacist. The Pharm.D. is a professional degree similar to the doctor of medicine (M.D.) for physicians or a doctor of dental surgery (DDS) for dentists.

Ph.D.

The Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences program prepares tomorrow’s scientists for basic or clinical research. Our Ph.D. program has four multidisciplinary concentrations that reflect our collaborative approach to science.

M.S. with a focus on Health-System Pharmacy Administration

The M.S. in pharmaceutical sciences with a specialization in health system pharmacy administration prepares pharmacists for leadership positions in health care. It combines classroom instruction with a two-year residency in a health-system setting.

M.P.S.

The online MPS in Regulatory Science prepares you to play a global leadership role to ensure products and pharmaceuticals comply with efficacy, safety, and high-quality standards required to meet today’s healthcare challenges.

Fellowships

We offer postgraduate research opportunities for Pharm.D. and Ph.D. graduates through academic and clinical research postdoctoral fellowships. We also offer graduate fellowships for current students.

Residencies

Our residency programs help prepare Pharm.D. graduates to be leaders and innovators in community-pharmacy and hospital practice

Continuing Education

Our continuing education program partners with the nine regional AHECs and NCAP to help the state’s pharmacists improve and advance their practice.
