Purification Chemist - CICBDD

The Purification Chemist will join a team of synthetic and medicinal chemists under the direction of Jeffrey Aube’, PhD, who will be joining the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy faculty as a Professor in the Division of Chemical Biology and Medicinal Chemistry in July 2015. In addition to holding a joint appointment in the Department of Chemistry, Dr. Aube’ will be a member of the Center for Integrative Chemical Biology and Drug Discovery (CICBDD) and of the Lineberger Cancer Center. The selected candidate will be skilled in analytical and purification processes as well as compound management activities to support multiple researchers and projects in a dynamic environment focused on discovery of new drugs and novel tool compounds to promote human health. Projects will involve collaborations with investigators from various University departments as well as external investigators.

Postdoctoral Research Associate - Computational

We are currently looking for a creative, independent and highly motivated individual to join our research effort in developing and applying computational approaches to chemical biology and drug discovery. The appointee is expected to master relevant computational approaches including (but not limited to) molecular dynamics, virtual screening, data mining and machine learning. You will perform computer-aided small-molecule design in close collaboration with medicinal chemists, use simulation methods to study structure and function of potential therapeutic targets in collaboration with biologists, and develop informatics tools for the Center.
