Please note that the application deadline has been extended to Monday, July 25, 2005.

Amgen, a global biotechnology company that discovers, develops, manufactures, and markets important human therapeutics based on advances in cellular and molecular biology, has provided a gift to the UNC School of Pharmacy to support a senior graduate student during the 2005-2006 academic year. This gift will establish a fellowship for a third or fourth year graduate student in pharmaceutical sciences whose research is focused on drug disposition or drug delivery.

The Amgen Fellowship will include a stipend, health insurance, tuition, and travel allowance for presentation of results. At the conclusion of the academic year, the recipient will provide a report in the form of a seminar at Amgen or a short written report, manuscript, reprint, or poster that details the student’s research.

Applications should include the student’s graduate transcript, resume, research proposal (maximum of three pages), and a letter from the student’s advisor. The advisor’s letter should include an assessment of the applicant’s performance in the written qualifying examination.

Applications are due July 25, and a selection will be made no later than August 15 by an ad hoc committee comprised of School of Pharmacy faculty.

All applications or questions about the Amgen Fellowship should be submitted to:
