US News & World Report 2013 rankingThe UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy maintained its number-two position in U.S. News & World Report’s 2013 ranking of doctor of pharmacy programs. The School was also second in the publication’s 2008 rankings.

“Thanks to the incredible hard work of our faculty, staff, and students, the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy continues to thrive even in these challenging times,” says Dean Bob Blouin, PharmD. “And while we always take these rankings with a grain of salt, it is extremely gratifying to see that we are so highly regarded by our peers.”

The 2013 graduate-education rankings examined doctor of pharmacy programs and did not review PhD or master’s degree programs. In the fall of 2011, U.S. News surveyed 125 doctor of pharmacy programs accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education with a response rate of 39 percent. All health-related rankings were based solely on the results of these peer-assessment surveys sent to deans, other administrators, and faculty at accredited degree programs or schools.

In the fall of 2011, the School enrolled 164 students to its doctor of pharmacy program. In addition to the main campus in Chapel Hill, the School has satellite campuses in Elizabeth City and in Asheville.
