The award-winning project from UNC Hospitals was titled, “Development, Implementation, and Impact of a Comprehensive, Patient-Centered, Medical-Service-Based Pharmacy Practice Model.”

“We are truly proud of the significant effort by our entire department of pharmacy in the delivery of quality patient care,” says Rowell Daniels, PharmD, the School’s associate dean for clinical affairs and director of the pharmacy department.

“This award is a testament to our dedication and commitment.”

Pharmacists involved with the submission of the application were clinical assistant professor Stephen Eckel, PharmD; clinical assistant professor Robert Granko, PharmD; Scott Savage, PharmD; adjunct assistant professor Brett Crisp, PharmD; Edwin Smith, PharmD; and Daniels.

“This is a tremendous accomplishment for the pharmacy department. This award validates the impact that pharmacists at UNC Hospitals have on patient care,” says Janet Hadar, MSN, MBA, vice president for professional and support services for UNC Hospitals.

Leaders from the UNC Hospitals Department of Pharmacy will be recognized during the ASHP Forty-Sixth Midyear Clinical Meeting in New Orleans.
