Gu’s research interests include integrating biomaterials design, biomolecular engineering, and micro/nanofabrication toward on-demand drug delivery focused on cancer, diabetes, and regenerative medicine. He obtained his PhD in 2010, with a major in MEMS and nanotechnology at the University of California, Los Angeles, under the guidance of Yi Tang in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Eningeering and Yong Chen in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
