Laura Rhodes, PharmD, BCACP, is a Teaching Assistant Professor in the Division of Practice Advancement and Clinical Education at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC). She is an Assistant Director of the PGY1 Community-based Pharmacy Residency Program and the Community-based Psychiatry Fellowship Program. In her role with UNC, Laura works collaboratively with the School, Residency Program, and practice sites, preceptors, and residents to transform practice across the state of North Carolina.

Laura received her PharmD from Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida. She completed her PGY1 Community-based Pharmacy Residency Program with UNC and Moose Pharmacy. She then completed a 2-year Community Practice Engagement Fellowship with the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy, supporting pharmacy sites, preceptors, and residents. After completing the fellowship, Laura returned to her alma mater as an Assistant Professor and Consultant for Enhanced Pharmacy Services with Palm Beach Atlantic University. Laura has partnered with multiple community-based pharmacy sites in Florida to develop and deliver enhanced services. She served as the Director of an Enhanced Community Pharmacy Services Fellowship that she designed and funded. Laura is a Regional Lead for the Value-based Contracting Department of CPESN USA, contributing to state and national advancement of community pharmacy.

Laura actively develops and implements patient care services in the community pharmacy setting, with a specific interest in community-based pharmacy workflow models, quality improvement initiatives, immunizations, and nonprescription medications. She enjoys engaging with student pharmacists, PGY1 and PGY2 residents, and fellows on practice transformation initiatives. Her research interests are primarily focused community-based pharmacy initiatives, workflow models, and quality improvement.
