Jill Bates, Pharm.D.,M.S., BCOP,CPP

Assistant Professor of Clinical Education Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Malignant Hematology Adjunct Associate Professor

Dr. Bates is an experienced clinician in oncology pharmacy practice. She is a Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner focused in oncology precision medicine with the Department of Pharmacy at the University of North Carolina Medical Center (UNCMC). She also holds a position as Associate Professor of Clinical Education in the Division of Practice Advancement and Clinical Education (PACE) with the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. She is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago where she earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Dr. Bates completed her post graduate year (PGY) 1 year and PGY2 oncology pharmacy training at Duke University Medical Center. Additionally, Dr. Bates has completed a research-based Master of Science program in biochemistry and biophysics at Northern Illinois University. Dr. Bates is the Director of the oncology pharmacy residency program at the UNCMC. Her research interests include educational research.
