The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy held its second annual Carolina Pharmacy Leadership Excellence, And Development (LEAD) program on June 15-16. LEAD is a preparatory and professional development program for students who are interested in exploring a career in pharmacy and learning how to be competitive in the pharmacy-school admissions process. The programs are geared toward, but not limited to, underserved and underrepresented students.

Attendees participated in breakout sessions in which they were introduced to some aspects of pharmacy, such as compounding, and had an opportunity to talk about a career in pharmacy with School faculty and current students. The event also featured discussion panels on topics such as taking standardized tests, networking, and preparing for interviews.
