Three PharmD students at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy were recently selected for positions with the American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists.

Paul Cubita, a third-year student, has been selected as a member of the APhA-ASP National Nominating Committee. He is one of eight students nationwide appointed in this role and the only one who represents the southeastern United States. During the APhA Annual Meeting, this committee observes and interviews the candidates for APhA-ASP national office and presents a slate of candidates during the APhA-ASP House of Delegates.

Lisa Kim, a third-year student, has been selected as a member of the APhA-ASP Awards Standing Committee. She is one of four members nationwide selected for this committee. This committee evaluates and selects the recipients for APhA-ASP awards (a HUGE undertaking with so many awards) and makes suggestions to improve the awards process.

David Steeb, a PY1, has been selected as the APhA-ASP Summer Intern in Association Management. He is the one student selected to complete a ten-week internship at APhA’s headquarters in Washington, DC this summer. He will work directly with APhA staff to learn more about the Association, participate in critical meetings and events, and advance the Association’s initiatives.
