UNC Implementation Science Speaker Series: Implementation and Effectiveness of Digital Health Interventions for Cancer Screening

October 18, 2022 @ 8:00 am - 9:00 am

Join us for “Implementation and Effectiveness of Digital Health Interventions for Cancer Screening” David P. Miller, MD, MS, Professor of Internal Medicine and Implementation Science at Wake Forest University School of Medicine.

This seminar will be held Tuesday, October 18 from 8:00 – 9:00 a.m, both in-person at Alumni Hall at the Carolina Club, or online via Zoom.

This seminar is part of the UNC Implementation Science Speaker Series. Each semester, the D&I Methods Unit at NC TraCS co-sponsors external faculty visits to present on cutting edge implementation science topics, meet with students, and consult with faculty.

The growing prevalence of mobile device ownership and high-speed internet access have created new opportunities to reach, educate, and empower patients to participate in their care. However, digital health interventions can be difficult to implement in busy clinical environments and may widen health disparities. David Miller, MD, MS, will share lessons learned along his 20-year journey of creating and implementing patient-facing digital health interventions designed to facilitate cancer screening.
