This event will be held Thursday, November 9th, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. ET via Zoom.
Instructor: Jennifer Chang, PharmD, BCPS
Associate Teaching Professor, University of Washington School of Pharmacy
Description: Many pharmacists are facing professional burnout due to increasing workload in practice and demands in their role as preceptors. Practicing pharmacists may find themselves withstanding ‘casual pharmacy practice’ with a survival mode mentality and feeling dissatisfied.
The goal of this session is to move preceptors from survival mentality to experiencing a thriving pharmacy career through promoting a culture of well-being in precepting. Attendees will also be given practical guidance on entering into well-being conversations with learners who are navigating transitions from classroom to practice environments. Attendees in the session will create a plan to prioritize well-being in their self-development and be challenged to integrate well-being into their rotation to support the ‘whole’ student.
Learning Objectives: At the end of this program, participants will be able to:
1. Prioritize one behavioral practice in your routine to improve personal well-being
2. Identify opportunities to build students’ resilience
3. Implement strategies for advancing student well-being in precepting
4. Describe approaches to assessing and responding to well-being requests from learners
Target Audience: This program is designed for faculty, staff, preceptors, post-graduate trainees, and students.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Thursday, November 2nd, at 5 p.m.
