Heart Failure Pharmacotherapy Academic Research Fellowship
This fellowship is part of the DPET fellowship program.
- Length: 2 years
This fellowship provides the applicant with extensive research experience in the area of cardiovascular pharmacotherapy with a special emphasis on heart failure and cardiovascular pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics. A multidisciplinary team approach including medicine, pharmacy, and nursing is applied to research and management of heart failure.
Academic fellows spend the entire duration of their programs at UNC, focusing on clinical, preclinical and in vitro research projects.
Program Components:
Research protocols may include industry-sponsored clinical trials involving angiotensin II receptor blockers, beta blockers, and investigator-initiated projects involving the pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics of these agents. Opportunities in analytical and pharmacokinetic research are also available in addition to required coursework in study design and statistical analysis.
