Lori T. Armistead, Pharm.D., joined the Center for Medication Optimization as a senior research associate in September 2016. Armistead holds a master’s degree in chemistry from UNC Chapel Hill and earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. She subsequently completed a pharmacy residency in ambulatory care pharmacy practice at UNC Hospitals and Clinics. Her professional interests focus on improving medication access and adherence for patients with chronic medical conditions.
Armistead is the clinical coordinator for several grants within CMOPP, including the pharmacy integration portion of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation’s Transforming Clinical Practice Initiative grant awarded to Community Care of North Carolina, one of 39 national and regional Practice Transformation Networks participating in the Transforming Clinical Practice Initiative. She also contributes to CMOPP’s American College of Clinical Pharmacy Comprehensive Medication Management grant and an Eshelman Institute for Innovation grant developing a technology platform to be used in primary care-focused research projects within the center.
