Brad Wingo, M.Ed.

Brad Wingo joined the Office of Curricular and Student Affairs as director in August of 2011 bringing with him over a decade of student affairs administrative experience at both small private and large public universities. Brad was previously director of the Student Success and Advising Center and coordinator of advising for the College of Education at North Carolina State University. Brad also previously served as the director of the Student Support Center at North Carolina Wesleyan College.
At N.C. State, Brad was primarily responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Center – supporting professional students in education majors and supervising a staff of six professional advisors and student affairs professionals. In addition, he functioned as the strategic planner of all student success and academic advising initiatives for professional programs – taking the primary lead in developing the Student Success and Advising Center.
At Wesleyan, Brad was charged with guiding and managing all student services functional areas within the Center including advising, student support, bridge programs, intervention programs, and disability support services. While at Wesleyan, Brad had the opportunity to serve as a co-director for a $1.3 million Title III grant from the U.S. Department of Education – developing innovative support programs for enrolled students.
Brad’s dedication to students and higher education has been noticed at each university at which he has worked. At Wesleyan, Brad was awarded the Distinguished Staff Award presented to one professional staff member annually who demonstrates the highest level of professionalism, expertise, and dedication in supporting the guiding principles of the college. At N.C. State, he was presented the Friends of ASPSA Award by the Academic Support Program for Student Athletes for exhibiting impressive loyalty, dedication, and support to student athletes and the academic program for student athletes. At the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy, Brad was presented the Phyllis Smith Award for Staff Excellence for overall excellence in performance and contribution to the School.
Brad has earned certification from the Advisor Development Institute at N.C. State and is also a graduate of the Advising Administrator Institute through the National Academic Advising Association. In addition, Brad holds a Supplemental Instruction Supervisor Certificate from the University of Missouri – Kansas City.
Wingo earned a master’s degree in higher education administration with a concentration in student affairs from N.C. State University. In addition, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from Wesleyan.
