Preceptor and Residency Alumna Branham Named NCAP Community Pharmacist of the Year

Ashley Branham, PharmD, an alumna of the community pharmacy residency program at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy, has been named the 2013 Community Care Pharmacist of the Year by the North Carolina Association of Pharmacists. Branham is the director of clinical services at Moose Pharmacy in Concord, North Carolina. She is also a clinical pharmacist at Cabarrus Family Medicine. She serves as the chair of NCAP’s Community Care Practice Forum, as well as the organization’s Immunization Task Force. School, UNC Hospitals Receive Grant to Study New Practice Model

Researchers and practitioners at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy and UNC Hospitals have received a Pharmacy Practice Model Initiative Demonstration Grant from the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists Foundation to investigate the what, why, and how of a new model of pharmacy practice. NCPA Honors School Preceptors Moose, Branham

Joe Moose, PharmD, and Ashley Branham, PharmD, preceptors for the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy, received three awards at the National Community Pharmacists Association Annual Convention and Trade Exposition in San Diego, California, on October 13-17. Moose was named the Next Generation Pharmacist Entrepreneur of the Year and the Overall Next Generation Pharmacist of the Year. School Receives NACDS Grant for New Residency Site in Raleigh

The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy has received a $50,000 grant from the National Association of Chain Drug Stores Foundation to establish a new PGY1 community pharmacy residency site in Raleigh, North Carolina. The School will use its grant to fund a new residency site at Kroger in Raleigh. The site’s preceptors are Jane DeVries, PharmD; Ouita Davis, RPh; Laura Cates, RPh; and Matt Smith, PharmD. Phil Rodgers Named Assistant Dean for Pharmacy Practice Partnerships

School, UNC Hospitals Join Forces to Better Serve Patients, Students

The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy is teaming up with UNC Hospitals to expand the patient-care, education, and research efforts of both institutions.
