Opportunity to impact global health supply chains

The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy is part of two consortiums, DAI and the Panagora Group, that have been awarded a place on the Global Health Comprehensive Technical Assistance for Health Supply Chain and Pharmaceutical Management (Comprehensive TA) contract by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).   This is a competitive contracting mechanism designed to ensure that USAID partner countries have sustainable access to safe, effective, quality-assured and affordable health commodities. Jackie Zeeman promoted to associate professor

Jackie Zeeman, Pharm.D. ‘14, has been promoted to associate professor in the Division of Practice Advancement and Clinical Education (PACE) at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. She is also the associate director in the Office of Organizational Effectiveness, Planning and Assessment.   “To me, this faculty promotion signifies that my expertise is positively impacting research, teaching and service initiatives at the School, University and beyond. Kathryn Morbitzer promoted to associate professor

Kathryn Morbitzer, Pharm.D., M.S., has been promoted to associate professor in the Division of Practice Advancement and Clinical Education (PACE) at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. AACP Distinguished Preceptor Recognition Program selects Pete Koval

Associate Professor Pete Koval, Pharm.D., BCPS, CPP, has been chosen for the 2023 AACP Distinguished Preceptor Recognition Program, which recognizes individuals for their sustained commitment to excellence in experiential education and professional practice.   He is Director of Pharmacy Education with the Piedmont Area Health Education Center in Greensboro and a Clinical Pharmacist with Cone Health Family Medicine.   Koval has precepted more than 700 months of pharmacy students/residents and has mentored 50 ambulatory care-focused pharmacy residents. Carpenter, Kiser awarded grant to study COVID-19 impacts on rural pharmacies

UNC-Chapel Hill has been nationally recognized for its COVID-19 research efforts, and that includes faculty from various departments of the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Two faculty members selected to serve in AACP House of Delegates

UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy faculty members Amanda Savage, Pharm.D., and Kimberly Sanders, Pharm.D., have been selected by their peers to serve as delegates in the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP)’s House of Delegates in the coming years. UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy announces chair for Division of Practice Advancement and Clinical Education

The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy is thrilled to announce Stefanie Ferreri, Pharm.D., has been named Chair of its Division of Practice Advancement and Clinical Education (PACE), effective January 1, 2020. Ferreri joined the School in 2001 as a clinical assistant professor, and today is a professor in PACE. She previously served as PACE’s Executive Vice Chair. In the past, Ferreri served as director of the community pharmacy residency program from 2004 to 2015, and previously as a residency preceptor for the program. Faculty member honored with international new investigator award

When Jackie Zeeman conducts research, she’s hoping her findings will leave the world a little better than she found it. Her most recent work, “Identifying Traits and Building Consensus on Priority Leadership and Professionalism Attributes in Pharmacy Education,” left that mark on an international level. Zeeman was one of four across the world invited to present research in the New Investigator Series at the 10th Biennial Monash Pharmacy Education Symposium in Prato, Italy, in July. School awarded AACP’s 2019 Innovation in Teaching Award

The American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy awarded its 2019 Innovation in Teaching Award to the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. The School was recognized for redesigning the pharmacotherapy curriculum at the School and implementing the new integrated pharmacotherapy (iPHTH) course series. The iPHTH consists of three groundbreaking courses taught across consecutive semesters in the second and third year of the pharmacotherapy curriculum.
