UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy fellow, Miramar Kardouh, Pharm.D., was selected as a recipient of the American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics (ASCPT) 2024 Presidential Trainee Award and the 2024 David J. Goldstein Trainee Award.  The Presidential Trainee Award is given by the scientific program committee who selects the top scoring abstracts by clinical pharmacologists and translational scientists in training. Statewide collaboration to improve patient health one community at a time

Opportunity to impact global health supply chains

The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy is part of two consortiums, DAI and the Panagora Group, that have been awarded a place on the Global Health Comprehensive Technical Assistance for Health Supply Chain and Pharmaceutical Management (Comprehensive TA) contract by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).   This is a competitive contracting mechanism designed to ensure that USAID partner countries have sustainable access to safe, effective, quality-assured and affordable health commodities. Lisa Spees, Ph.D. ‘16, joins the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy as an assistant professor in the Division of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy (DPOP) this month. Advocating for contraception access

Leaders from the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy joined the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) and state health leaders to mark NC Medicaid enrolling pharmacists as Medicaid providers and paying for contraceptive counseling services provided in North Carolina pharmacies.  Mollie Scott, Pharm.D. ‘93, Regional Associate Dean for the School, has focused on implementing pharmacist-provided contraception across the state through a grant from The Duke Endowment.
