He was born in Romania and adopted by a family from Long Island, New York. August 7, 2023When Min Jiang applied to Carolina, she was set on pursuing a business degree. That all changed when her grandfather came to live with her family as he was aging. Soon after, her mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. “All of a sudden, our lives were full of different medications. I learned that medications are a big part of life—people get older and diseases happen. Fall 2023 Orientation Week
August 4, 2023It’s orientation week for Pharm.D. students at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy, and they’re being welcomed with open arms and five days of events and activities. The first orientation event, held on August 1, was a dinner on the lawn outside Kerr Hall for students to start building connections at the School. August 2, 2023A new school year is starting, which means the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy is welcoming a new group of outstanding students. The class of 2027 includes 151 students who hail from 28 of the 50 states plus Trinidad and Tobago, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, China and Canada. Global inspiration leads to presentation at AACP
July 26, 2023Isabel Cheng, Pharm.D. candidate Class of 2024, started as a student at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy during the pandemic in 2020, which ended up being the inspiration for her research on vaccine hesitancy. Vaccine hesitancy has always been present but became even more evident during COVID-19 and led to Cheng expanding a vaccine champion curriculum from the University College London (UCL) to Carolina. Cheng discovered the vaccine champion curriculum at UCL when she was vice president of PharmAlliance in early 2021. Global experience: program connects international students with Carolina
July 24, 2023Students from around the world are exploring cutting-edge research and innovative technologies at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. It’s part of the School’s Office of Global Engagement Innovation and Transformations in Pharmaceutical Sciences (ITPS) program. Global Pharmacy Scholars make an impact in Ethiopia
July 17, 2023Earlier this year, a team of faculty and students from the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy traveled to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia with three goals in mind—to launch Ethiopia’s first pediatric cancer registry, develop a therapeutic drug monitoring program and establish chemotherapy safe handling policies. The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy announces new undergraduate minor
May 8, 2023Carolina undergraduates now have the opportunity to study pharmaceutical sciences. The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy will soon be offering a new minor in pharmaceutical sciences and it will be available to all undergraduate students.
