Building A 21st Century Learning Environment

We are focused on creating a 21st century environment for learning and discovery. We know that learning environments improve learning outcomes. That is why we are not only rethinking how we prepare our future leaders, we are rethinking the walls around them — starting with the cornerstone of our school: Beard Hall.

Foster The Success Of Tomorrow’s Pharmacy Leaders

We are dedicated to recruiting and preparing the most promising students to become tomorrow’s health-care leaders. Our graduates go on to assume leadership roles in community and independent pharmacies, hospitals, physician offices, clinics, government agencies, public health agencies, pharmaceutical and biotech industries, and academic institutions. With that in mind, we seek to enhance access to learning and to foster the success and prosperity of each student.

Focus On Faculty: Investing In The Best

We are revolutionizing the possibilities for healthcare in our research labs every day. From treatments for diseases to discoveries that spark new companies, our school is setting the example for game-changing impact. The research taking place is groundbreaking and highly collaborative.

The Application Of Innovation

In 2014, the school received a historic $100 million commitment—the largest gift from an individual in UNC’s history and the largest gift ever made to a pharmacy school in the United States. The gift from Fred Eshelman, who graduated with a B.S. in pharmacy from Carolina in 1972 and went on to the University of Cincinnati to earn a Pharm. D., created the Eshelman Institute for Innovation. The institute is pursuing high-risk, high-reward ideas that advance education, pharmacy practice and healthcare.

Setting The Standard For A Global Pharmacy Practice

To fulfill the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy’s commitment to lead the way in improving human health globally, we must provide opportunities for students and faculty to experience global issues firsthand.

BEYOND EXCELLENCE

UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy Dean Angela Kashuba

Over the past year, the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy has maintained a high level of achievement, faced many uncertainties, and doggedly pursued our mission with an outstanding team of students, faculty, staff, preceptors, alumni, and donors like you.

We aspire to be a diverse and inclusive community of people to accelerate new thinking and ideas in education, research and practice that improve human health worldwide. We are stronger when we support and lift each other up. Since we are currently living in this uncertain time of unpredictability, there is probably no better time to develop a new strategic plan that will take us to new levels of achievement BEYOND excellence. This plan will continue the forward momentum needed to address our future.

This year, in particular, I have appreciated your support, engagement, creativity and steadfast belief in our goals and mission.  The support of donors is vital to our ability to achieve those goals – to go beyond excellence.  I remain grateful for your continued investment in our School as part of the Campaign for Carolina.
