Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmaceutical Sciences with a Concentration Area

Incoming Student Characteristics

The program leads to a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 1 of 4 research areas: chemical biology and medicinal chemistry (CBMC), pharmacoengineering and molecular pharmaceutics (DPMP), pharmacotherapy and experimental therapeutics (DPET), or pharmaceutical outcomes and policy (DPOP). Typical applicants have undergraduate degrees in STEM-related fields. Most incoming students have only bachelor degrees, while some do have other advanced degrees such as PharmD, MS, MPH, and MD. Most successful applicants have 1-2 years research experience.
