Logging In and Retrieving Your Login Information

In order to edit contents on the School Web site, you must first log in to the site.

If you are affiliated with the School and have an Onyen, your login for the site should be your Onyen name and password. Because there might be an occasional user who does not have an Onyen but needs to log in to the site, we have retained the ability to create non-Onyen log-ins. Please contact the communications office for more information.

To log in, from any page on the site, click the Log In link in the top right of the page, just below the Search box.

That brings up a pop-up box. In the box, enter your login name and password.

 

Resetting Your Password

If you are logging in with your Onyen: Because the Web site is using an Onyen-based log-in system, if you cannot remember your Onyen name or password, you need to go to http://onyen.unc.edu and use the "Manage Password" or "Forgotten Onyen?" options to retrieve that information.

If you are logging in with a non-Onyen login: For security purposes, no one, not even the site administrators, can see what your password is. So if you don't know your password, you will need to reset it. To do so, click the Log In link in the top right of the page. That brings up a pop-up box with the login fields. Click on the "we can send you a new one" link at the bottom of the pop-up box and follow the instructions. You will need your log-in name. If you don't know your log-in name, please contact David Etchison. Once you've requested your password, an e-mail will be sent to the address listed for your account. That e-mail will contain a link that you can follow to reset your password.
