Two posters presented by UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy professors, Suzie Harris and Jackie Zeeman were recognized as Top 5 selections for the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy’s Best Poster Award for the Social and Administration Section.

Their posters, “Be Well: Qualitative Evaluation of Factors Influencing Students Pharmacists’ Wellbeing” and “Identifying Workplace Factors that Influence Pharmacy Faculty Well-Being” were recognized as being in the top 10% of all posters submitted in this section.

“The purpose of these posters was to utilize qualitative methods to identify factors that contribute to faculty and pharmacy student well-being and burnout as well as identify recommendations for improving faculty and student well-being,” said Harris.

These posters were made possible with contributions from student researchers Akina Nana and Emily Pickering. Nana and Pickering are part of the Research and Scholarship in Pharmacy (RASP) program, which allows Doctor of Pharmacy students to work with a faculty member to conduct research for a scholarly project and present their findings in oral and written form.

“It’s an honor that our posters have been recognized by the AACP Social and Administration Section,” said Harris. “It was promising to see well-being and burnout work shared by so many at the AACP meeting, and this award highlights our school’s efforts to serve as a model for other schools looking to assess well-being in their environments.”

“With so many great research posters shared at the 2022 AACP Annual Meeting, I am humbled our work was honored with the top 5 best poster award,” said Zeeman. “This illuminates the great work occurring at our School to promote and support wellbeing across our community, and that we are leaders in this effort across pharmacy education.”
