UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy launches online teaching certificate program

The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy’s Center for Innovative Pharmacy Education and Research (CIPhER) has launched an online Teaching & Learning Certificate Program that sets a new standard in pharmacy education and professional development.

As the No. 1 school of pharmacy in the U.S., the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy and CIPhER are committed to delivering innovative, dynamic education programs for pharmacy residents and pharmacy educators across the country.

The program was developed by renowned CIPhER faculty to meet the needs and demands of today’s faculty, preceptors, and residents. Designed as a customized learning experience, the self-paced program delivers a world-class curriculum focused on evidence-based teaching and learning strategies.

“We are proud to be on the forefront of best teaching practices with a customized curriculum in a streamlined, online program that offers participants the opportunity to make their professional development a priority,” said CIPhER’s Director Jacqui McLaughlin Ph.D. “With 24/7 on-demand access, participants can start, stop and finish the coursework on their schedule.”

The combination of an online course with an 18-month program completion timeline and 15 curriculum hours makes balancing professional development manageable. In addition, participants choose four elective topics to personalize their learning and teaching goals.

“If you are a faculty member, preceptor or resident anywhere in the country, our Teaching & Learning Certificate Program can help you attain the professional learning and teaching goals that are important to you,” said Adam Persky, Ph.D., co-creator of the new program.
