The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy’s Division of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy (DPOP) is thrilled to announce the recent hire of Research Assistant Professor Scott Davis, Ph.D.
Davis just completed a National Institutes of Health post-doc at UNC in implementation science and is an alumni of the DPOP program, having graduated with his Ph.D. in 2018. He received his Master of Arts in teaching from Boston University in 2005, and his Bachelor of Art in Computer Science and Russian Civilization from the University of Chicago in 2003. In 2001, Davis studied at the Russian State University for the Humanities in Moscow, Russia.
His work focuses on the development of interventions to teach improved patient communication and medication-taking across a range of conditions including conditions of the skin, diabetes, glaucoma and pediatric asthma. He published a book on Behavioral Economics for Healthcare Professionals and recently, began work on pediatric mental health service use. In his new position, he will be positioned in Asheville, N.C., where he will work to advance research with colleagues at the UNC Health Sciences at MAHEC campus and the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy.
