This seminar offers presentations and discussions on current pharmaceutical policies, major issues in drug markets, and contemporary outcomes research topics in the field.

Phamarcy Law and Ethics
This course puts particular emphasis on the Federal and State Controlled Substance Acts, Federal and State Food, Drug and Cosmetic Acts, the Poison Prevention Packaging Act, the Prescription Drug Marketing Act of 1987 and the North Carolina Pharmacy Practice Act. Comprehensive survey of state and federal statutes, state and federal regulations, and common-law principles that affect the practice of pharmacy. Class discussion and assignments will include the application of ethics and values to fact situations involving the use of drugs in health care.

Pharmaceutical Policy
This course examines policies that influence pharmacy. Structured methods of policy analysis are examined and used to assess theoretic and analytic applications for evaluating pharmaceutical policy.
