Instrumentation
Instrumentation
In addition to many mundane items one can routinely find in a chemistry/biology lab such as pH meter, rotary evaporator, balance, distilled apparatus, etc., we have the following instruments. Some of them are the only unit at the School (e.g., spectrofluorometer and ITC). Upkeep of these is the responsibility of the Cho Lab students. It includes stocking perishable parts (e.g., chart paper on recorder, cuvette, UV lamp, HPLC extra column, reagents if required, etc.), updating software, maintaining a logbook if applicable, and keeping environment clean. Failure of fulfilling the responsibility leads to public hanging on Franklin Street with admission fee, followed by selling body parts to any medical centers or flesh to any hamburger joints. Money thus raised will be used in the preventive maintenance of the very instruments neglected by the sacrificed.
