Dr. Julie Dumond is the Director of the Pharmacometrics Core.  She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Michigan in 2004.  After completing a pharmacy practice residency at Borgess Health in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Dr. Dumond completed the HIV Pharmacology Fellowship at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy in 2007.  Prior to returning to Carolina to head the Pharmacometrics Core, Dr. Dumond was an assistant professor in the inaugural faculty of the Gatton College of Pharmacy at East Tennessee State University.  She became a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) in 2006, and an HIV Subject Matter Expert (AAHIVE) in 2009.

Dr. Dumond's research interests are focused on the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of antiretroviral drugs used to treat and prevent HIV infection.  She maintains a clinical practice at the UNC Infectious Diseases Clinic, and is involved in the education of professional pharmacy students, graduate students, and pharmacy fellows.
