About the
Chapel Hill Campus
Students are based at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Located in the central Piedmont region of North Carolina, Chapel Hill forms one corner of the famed Research Triangle, which is perennially named one of the best places to live in the United States and offers a rich blend of culture, entertainment, recreation, and fine dining, not to mention some of the best college basketball action in the country.
At the heart of the town often called “The Southern Part of Heaven” lies the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, which boasts a tradition going back more than two hundred years, recognitions as one of the finest public universities in the country, one of the best research library systems in North America, a vibrant nightlife, and one of the nation's most beautiful campuses.
The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy occupies three buildings on the UNC-Chapel Hill campus. We have called Beard Hall home since 1959 and gave it a face-lift for the new millennium with a $6 million renovation completed in 2005. In 2002, the 65,000-square-foot Kerr Hall opened next door, doubling our facilities. In 2008 we added 75,000 square feet of research space with the opening of the Genetic Medicine Building, which we share with the UNC School of Medicine. Our facilities provide the state-of-the-art environment we need to give our students a top-quality education, and our proximity to other schools of health on campus spurs opportunities for collaborations that enrich our students’ experience at Carolina.
