About Our Campuses
As part of our mission to serve the health-care needs of people all across North Carolina, we have expanded our outstanding doctor of pharmacy program to the eastern and western parts of the state. Students in the program have the opportunity to choose from three sites across the state at which to pursue their education: Chapel Hill, Elizabeth City, and Asheville.
Our PharmD program enrolls students across all three campuses. The curriculum and the admission and progression requirements are the same for students. We use innovative video-teleconferencing technology to deliver real-time, interactive classroom instruction from faculty at Chapel Hill to students at Elizabeth City and Asheville, so that all of our students receive the same educational experience. Students at Elizabeth City and Asheville also receive assistance from dedicated faculty based at their respective branch, and they have a variety of opportunities to work with faculty and advisers at Chapel Hill. Students remain at their branch campus for their first three years in the PharmD program and then spend their fourth year at a number of practice sites designed to translate the knowledge they acquired in the classroom into clinical application.
Applicants to our PharmD program will be asked to note their branch-campus preference on the School’s supplemental application form. Visit our admissions section for more information about the application process. We have compiled some information and links for each of our sites to help you decide which one is right for you.
