UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy Preceptor Development Program
The School of Pharmacy has implemented the Training Pharmacy Preceptors workshop that preceptors must attend during their first or second year in the Professional Experience Program. The workshop is offered twice a year (in spring and fall) in Chapel Hill and consists of a full day structured, interactive educational session that addresses
- Setting expectations
- Motivating students
- Precepting practice
- Evaluating students and providing feedback
Seven hours of CE credit is provided. Enrollment is limited to 25. Registrants must be an approved UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy preceptor at the time of registration.
The process to become an approved preceptor begins when the pharmacist contacts both the AHEC and the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy Professional Experience Program to discuss their interest in becoming a preceptor. This is followed by the completion of profile forms and development of a practice experience syllabus.
In addition, The Professional Experience Program provides preceptors with access to the Preceptor Training and Resource Network from Pharmacist's Letter.
Please view Preceptor Today for a current listing of preceptor training offerings.
