Do I still need to submit a high school and college transcripts from institutions I attended some time ago?

Yes, you must submit your high school transcript and all college transcripts no matter how long ago you finished high school (whether in the US or outside the US) to the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy and to PharmCAS. We highly recommend you submit final transcripts (high school and college) to our office as soon as they become available. Please note that PharmCAS does not send your transcripts to us.

How will I know you received the paperwork I send to the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy?

Please send your documents via certified mail with return receipt, or through a carrier service that requires signature upon delivery and will give you a tracking number.

When will I get information on orientation and registration?

This information will be posted on the new student website after May 15.

Where can I find information on scholarships and financial aid?

If you are interested in applying for financial assistance for the 2012–2013 academic year, please contact the Office of Scholarships and Student Aid at 919-962-8396 or http://studentaid.unc.edu. Please note that the priority deadline for financial aid is March 1. You will become eligible for scholarships from the Pharmacy Foundation of North Carolina upon entering the second year of the professional program.

Where can I find information on campus security?

In accordance with the federal Campus Security Act, you can find a copy of the University’s annual campus security report by visiting the respective web page below. It contains information on crime and arrest statistics, crime reporting and emergency warning procedures, alcohol and drug policies, sexual assault response procedures, campus police authority and jurisdiction, building security, and educational programs on crime prevention and security.

How do you suggest we find off campus housing?

Try apartmentguide.com, apartmentfinder.com, craigslist, and the classifieds. We have included a few popular off campus housing options in the 'Housing' link to the left.  You can also try the Facebook group for your incoming class.

Can we drop courses that are not prerequisites now that we have been accepted into the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy?

Yes.  However, please make sure that you complete all pre-requisite coursework.

My transcript evaluation from my interview says that I still need to complete general education perspectives. Can these courses be completed while enrolled in the PharmD program?

Students lacking a PE and one general education course may complete them while enrolled in the program. However, if you are lacking three or more general education perspectives, it is very important that you speak with our admissions manager to plan summer courses prior to enrolling in the PharmD program.

When can we buy our textbooks?

Textbooks are ordered in the spring by professors, and they will arrive in the summer at the bookstore. If you want to buy your textbooks ahead of time, we recommend doing so during the 1-2 weeks before classes begin. You will also have the opportunity to buy some used books for sale during the first few days of classes.

Do I need to register myself for fall classes if I am already a UNC Chapel Hill student?

No, all incoming PharmD students will be registered for all of their courses for the fall semester by our office, including current UNC Chapel Hill students.

Do I need to send you transcripts if I am already a UNC Chapel Hill student?

Yes. We certify your prerequisites and PharmD degree here, so we need official sealed copies.

Do I need to submit the UNC Chapel Hill health documentation to Campus Health if I am already a UNC Chapel Hill student?

No, as long as the vaccines they require are up-to-date. You should check to make sure they are up-to-date while you are completing the requirements for the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy.
