New PharmD Student Checklist
Checklist
1. Obtain your PID by going to https://itsapps.unc.edu/PIDCreate/jsp/wmp.jsp.
2. Obtain an Onyen by going to onyen.unc.edu and clicking on the first link 'Create an Onyen' for instructions.
3. Create your email alias at onyen.unc.edu by clicking on the link 'Set email alias' listed under the electronic mail management heading. Your alias should be in the form of firstname_lastname@unc.edu. For example, Andrew Clapper's email alias is andrew_clapper@unc.edu.
4. Verify your email alias by completing this form. Please make sure your email alias is correct before submitting, as ALL future communication will be via this email address. You will not be able to do this until you complete Steps 1-3.
Please complete Steps 1-4 by May 1.
5. Complete the New PharmD Student Information Form within one week of receiving the link for it. The link for the form will be sent to your email alias.
6. Summer Reading - The Summer Reading selection will be announced in May. Please read the selection and be prepared to discuss the book with your faculty adviser during Orientation. See the 'Summer Reading' link to the left for more details.
7. Obtain your UNC One Card. You are required to come to the UNC One Card office in Chapel Hill, in person, to obtain your card. During the Main Orientation at the Chapel Hill campus, you will have an opportunity to visit the One Card office. However, you may go on your own once you are registered for classes in order to avoid the long lines.
8. Contact your mentor and introduce yourself if he or she has not already contacted you (mentor-mentee pairings will available late summer).
9. Make plans to attend Orientation on Friday, August 17, 2012. All students must attend Orientation at the UNC Chapel Hill campus. Dress professionally - like you would for a job or admissions interview. You do not need to wear a jacket. Please see the 'Orientation' link for details. Classes will begin on Tuesday, August 21st.
10. Purchase Audience Response System (clicker) - Please bring $20.00 (check or money order - no cash) to Orientation. Make payable to UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. You will receive your clicker device once payment is received.
11. Purchase textbooks for Fall 2012 courses - Students will have the opportunity to purchase their textbooks at Orientation. More information on pricing to come in early summer.
12. Please bring your Pre-Orientation documents*, $20.00 payment, and a copy of the Summer Reading to Orientation.
