May 23, 2008 Dear UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy Class of 2012, As
the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy’s Senate Secretary, I would like to
welcome you to the Carolina family! We have planned several exciting
programs and event s to help make your transition into the program as
smooth as possible. As senate secretary, one of my
responsibilities is to oversee the mentor-mentee program. This program
was originally developed to provide incoming students with an
“experienced” pharmacy student to use as a go-to person during their
first year. In order to appropriately match you up with a mentor, we
need to hear from you. Please fill out the mentor matching form, save it and then return it by emailing it back to me at UNCMentorCommittee@gmail.com by Friday, June 27th. We have revamped this program for your class, and believe that it will be extremely beneficial to you this upcoming year. We
have also planned a Day out at Chapel Hill for your class on Saturday
June 21st. The day will begin with an optional tour of Chapel Hill
apartments sponsored by current SOP students. We will then have lunch
on Franklin Street, take a tour of the campus, play some fun games
(Ultimate Frisbee, kickball, etc.), and then end up at the Pharmacy
School for a cookout. The cost of this event will be $10 per
participant. Please email me back at nathan_barnes@unc.edu by Sunday, June 8th so that we can reserve you a spot. So a brief overview of important dates to remember:
I look forward to meeting with you all at the upcoming event and hope that you all enjoy your summer break. Thanks for your time! Sincerely, Nathan E. Barnes |
