The doctor of pharmacy is for those who want to become a pharmacist.
The PharmD is a professional degree similar to the doctor of medicine (MD) for physicians or a doctor of dental surgery (DDS) for dentists.

The PhD in pharmaceutical sciences program prepares tomorrow's scientists for basic or clinical research. The School's PhD program has four multidisciplinary concentrations that reflect our collaborative approach to science.

Starting in fall 2008, the School will offer the master of science in health system pharmacy, which prepares pharmacists for leadership positions in health care.

For someone who already has a PharmD or a PhD, the School offers a number of postgraduate opportunities, including fellowships and residencies.

Partnering with the nine regional AHECs and NCAP, the School's continuing education program assists the state’s pharmacists in improving and advancing their practice.
