Joe Heidrick is the director of operations for KDI Health Solutions and currently practices in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. While he still practices as a clinical pharmacist, his main responsibility is developing business opportunities and expanding the scope of clinical pharmacy in the community setting. Heidrick understands the value of a pharmacist within the medical community and works continuously to demonstrate the benefit of a pharmacist to patients, payers, and other health-care providers. He is currently working with the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy to develop a community-based diabetes research center as well as a pharmacogenomics education and screening center.

Heidrick serves as a preceptor for three schools of pharmacy in North Carolina. After graduating from the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy in 2004, Heidrick completed the same UNC community pharmacy residency he now precepts. He has presented on medication therapy management at two national pharmacy meetings and was interviewed in July 2009 on the Today Show regarding dangerous drug interactions. In 2009 Heidrick was awarded the Honorable Mention Immunization Champion Award by the APhA and the Community Care Pharmacist of the Year Award by the North Carolina Association of Pharmacists..
