Post PharmD Opportunities
Postgraduate training in the form of residencies and fellowships is the most common way for professionals in pharmacy to seek specialized knowledge in their areas of interest. The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy provides many outstanding postgraduate opportunities that allow graduates to pursue specific disciplines or areas of study.
Residencies in hospitals, clinics and community pharmacies are one-, two-, and three-year programs that emphasize patient care skills.
Fellowships in an academic setting or in the pharmaceutical industry are two-year programs that emphasize research skills. Pharmaceutical industry fellowships offer specialization in areas such as drug development, pharmacokinetics and pharmacoeconomics. Academic fellowships can be general in nature or more specialized in areas such as oncology and cardiology.
Post PhD Opportunities
For someone who holds a PhD, clinical Pharmacokinetic/Pharmacodynamic and Drug Development Fellowships are available through the School.
Postdoctoral listings can also be found through the University.
