Pharmacy Practice Seminar- 09/12 & 09/13
Target Audience: Pharmacists in community pharmacy. Ambulatory care and long-term care practice.

Program Goal: This program will provide pharmacists an
update on current pharmacotherapy and pharmaceutical care
concerns in primary care community/ambulatory care practice.
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of this seminar, depending
on the sessions attended, the participant should be able to:
•    Define the term dietary supplements
•    Discuss federal regulations governing dietary supplements
•    Describe categories of nonprescription medications that should be used with caution in patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding
•    Describe common disease states that may affect self care and nonprescription medication use in patients
•    Use basic Spanish phrases to obtain a patient’s medication history
•    Discuss inhalants
•    Identify different substances abused in the club setting
•    Evaluate self-care treatment options for common pediatric disorders
•    Identify opportunities for pharmacists to make self-care interventions

Thereafter, no refunds will be given. If substitutions are necessary, please call 919.843.4028 prior to 9/04/09 to ensure correct registration materials. CE Credit: The two-day Pharmacy Practice Seminar will provide10.0 contact hours of continuing pharmacy education credit.  To receive CE credit, attendance MUST be acknowledged at the registration desk upon arrival at the program. The CE Attendance Verification Form must be completed and returned to the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy no later than September 25, 2009, to receive CE credit for this program. Statements of credit will be mailed.
